Try out a new media without breaking the art supply budget!
Oil paints are rich and lovely to paint with; oils have a forgiving nature and work well for beginning painters. In this class, we will focus on getting to know the materials including a mix of substrates, tools and mediums (substances used to dilute the paint). Instruction will include information about non-or less-toxic paint alternatives. An exercise in color mixing will be offered, but free play with the medium is also welcome. This class will provide a rich array of supplies for a $20 materials fee; try out the medium without the commitment. You are also welcome to bring your own materials and skip the materials fee. Please check with me individually if you are bringing your own materials since some supplies, especially brands of paint, don't work with the techniques offered.
