Learn about the strength of abstract shapes and forms to tell a story. Join Ann in creating collages that illustration a mood, tale, or concept. Ann will lecture and demonstrate about visual storytelling. We will draw inspiration from the collages of Matisse, Eric Carle to create an illustration of a favorite tale. Each student will go home with one or two finished collages, ready to hang on the wall. A rich buffet of paper will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own paper inspirations to incorporate into the artwork. This class is guided by a non-required textbook, if you want to read ahead: Picture This! How pictures work. All supplies will be provided for a 10. materials fee.
